Europe’s last metallurgical industries…
This Czech photographer settled in Strasbourg 30 years ago. Since leaving the Grande Ecole de Photographie and Philosophie at Brno and Prague, he has devoted his life to this art. A great adventurer and reporter, he works with many magazines and publishers throughout the world.
He has earned numerous international prizes and exhibitions: the Unesco FIAP prize «A Better Way to Live» in Vancouver in 1976; the Agfa-Gevaerten prize in 1983; le Nikon International Photo Contest prize in 1983 in Tokyo; the Olympus prize in Tokyo in 1990; and the United Nations Program for the Environment prize in New York in 1996.
He has also illustrated more than 30 books including the «Bible 2000» in 19 volumes; «On my Own» in 1991; «Vache» in 1992; «Les routes du lait» in 1994; «Paysages Humains» in 1996; «Empreinte du temps» in 2001; «L’Alsace» in 2005; «Surma» (Ethiopia) in 2006; «Bleu de Terre» in 2008; «Strasbourg» in 2009 for NATO; «Les Alsaciens» in 2009; «Chemins de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle», «La Route des Vins d’Alsace», «Au Fil du Rhin» et «Metz» in 2010; «Éthiopie, Instants éternels» in 2011.
Currently, FZ is working on portraits in Europe’s last metallurgical industries.
